🧬 Inhibition of HMT Genes Enhances NK Cell Maturation from CB-HSPC 🧬

At our recent PhD Student Seminar, Pongsatorn Horcharoensuk presented his work on “Inhibition of Histone Methyltransferase Genes Enhances NK Cell Maturation from Cord Blood-derived HSPC.”

He discovered that HMT1 and HMT2 proteins have epigenetic influence over the expression of CD16, and their inhibition increased CD16 expression during ex vivo NK differentiation. Following which, he identified 4 unique NK subpopulation arising from the inhibition of HMTs, due to the manipulation of cell fate towards an ILC2 phenotype.
