We have contributed to a commentary on the developmental limit of Stem-cell-based embryo models (SCBEMs).

Current research on human embryo culture abides by the 14-day rule (or the “limit of permissible culture”) to avoid the development of sentience in vitro. However, given recent advances in our understanding of SCBEMs, this limit established by the Warnock Committee in 1984 should undergo a global re-evaluation.
